Your session retainer fee includes your Style Consult, the time to plan, design, and shoot your portrait session, as well as your Order Session; all other prints and products are sold separately.
All portrait sessions require a retainer fee paid in full and a signed portrait contract to reserve a date and time for your portrait session. For inquiries, please click here to submit a contact form.
When setting the date for your portrait session reservation, we will also schedule your Style Consult to discuss the details of your session and your favorite portrait product. Style Consults are key to a successful shoot, so please feel free to bring along any ideas or inspiration you have for your shoot.
The session fee is due upon booking your session, along with your signed contract. Sessions dates and times will only be reserved if the session fee and contract are completed. Invoices are due upon receipt; retainer fee invoices that remain unpaid for 24 hours will be canceled and the session reservation forfeited.
Session availability is limited, and is on a first come, first serve basis. All session reservations must be booked at least 14 days before the desired reservation date. Keeping in mind that sessions generally book out 6 weeks in advance, you should book your session with plenty of time to decide on the looks and styles you want, to shop for the clothing you want to bring to your session, and keep a 2-3 week turn around in mind if your images will be used for a special occasion (greeting cards, announcements, gift for a loved one, etc..).
For maternity images, the best time to reserve your session is around 28-32 weeks in your pregnancy. Newborn images are best created when baby is 6-22 days old to achieve the squishy-sleepy-baby look.
Wedding services should be reserved as soon as you start planning your wedding! Your wedding photographer will wear many hats on your big day to be sure to capture every single detail, so not only do you want to be sure you book them before another bride does, but that you book them in enough time for them to be able to learn all the in's and out's of your wedding day.
Life happens, and sometimes things don’t go the way we plan. If you need to reschedule, I ask that you give me at least a two-hour notice, along with the new date you wish to have your session. When choosing a new date, have a couple of backup dates in mind in case the new date you request is unavailable. If you need to reschedule again, a rescheduling fee of $100 is due before you set the new date. These terms stand for Style Consults and Order Sessions as well.
If your session is scheduled for outdoors, I will cancel the morning of your session reservation if the weather conditions are severe. “Severe” meaning heavy rain, extreme wind conditions, and extreme heat or cold. If the weather is questionable, I will call you the morning of to inform you that I’m monitoring the conditions and will give you a final decision 2 hours before your session. If weather becomes severe during your session, we will reschedule to finish the remainder of the session at my earliest availability, on a later date, at no additional charge.
You can expect to review 20-30 images during your Order Session.
You will receive a USB containing a digital copy of all the images used to create your final Portrait Order. Although your investment includes both the digital files and the physical products from your portrait order, we are happy to keep the physical products from your Portrait Order as studio samples if you are only interested in the USB.
Order Sessions are scheduled two weeks after your portrait session reservation; we will decide on a date for your Order Session during your Style Consult.
For your Order Session, I will hand select your best images to be presented and will make general lighting and color corrections to each image selected to be presented. For sake of time, not all the proofs selected for your Portrait Reveal and Order Session will be fully retouched. However, all of the images you select for your final portrait order with have skin retouched and will be finished off in TMP's signature style.
Once your portrait order has been paid in full, your images will be sent to our partner lab for professional printing. As soon as we receive a tracking order, we will update you with the estimated day of your portrait order's arrival. Orders can have a turn around time of up to 6 weeks depending on the product(s) ordered.
Of course, pets are welcome to your session! It's YOUR session!
However, please be mindful that I am a people photographer, and have very little experience with pet photography. If you're looking for amazing images for your pets, I might not be the best choice for you, but if you're looking for amazing images with you, and your pet is included in a few images, then I think we'll do just fine.
I will travel to most locations in the San Francisco East Bay Area. Arrangements for locations outside of the SFEBA can be made while booking your session.
